Mission

Encourage and support mental health, wellness, and socialization activities for members of all uniformed services, veterans, and their families through local and national partnerships, alliances, and educational programs including youth and adult sailing instruction and programs related to maritime environmental conservation.

Provide outdoor activities and other outlets to help improve quality of life, and help lessen the stress, isolation, and emotional impact of PTSD locally and nationally.

Vision

Uniformed Services members, veterans and their families shall have seamless access to social and educational programs and organizations that promote their physical and mental well-being.

Objectives

Provide financial support to 501 (C) (3) charitable organizations and other organizations whose missions overlap that of Presidio Uniformed Services Foundation.

Initial proposed local activities in SF Bay area

  • Meet with representatives from all military branches and begin locally with the Travis Air Force Base Exceptional Family Member Program to identify children and families with special social and mental/physical challenges and provide pro-active support to these families; coordinate and refer families to local organizations that provide such support.
  • Serve as nexus for service support organizations to meet and develop coordinated and expanded outreach to veterans in need and support one another in their various missions.
  • Provide scholarships/grant for military dependents to attend Junior Sailing programs.

The Presidio Uniformed Services Foundation is a California Non-Profit, Public Benefit Corporation, exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3) and eligible to receive tax-deductible donations.
